Spuds & Sprouts presented by Greenville Health System
Spuds & Sprouts presented by Greenville Health System is a season-long children's program aimed at teaching kids about locally grown foods and giving them the opportunity to try new fruits and vegetables.
The Spuds & Sprouts program features one activity each week. Some activities will give children the opportunity to taste a different market item - some familiar and some unusual. In addition to tasting, kids will learn how the item is grown, why it is good for them and receive recipes for how to cook the item at home. Other activities will feature educational programming, focused on fruits and vegetables and healthy living.
Children will receive a stamp in their Spuds & Sprouts Passport for each activity they participate in. Once they fill up their passport with stamps, participants will receive a prize.
Stop by their booth throughout the market season in the It's More than Just a Market activities area.
